Vegas is not for the faint hearted and no doubt some people may prefer to play in an online casino from the comfort of their home, this alternative has especially grown quickly during the last years and more and more people are choosing to gamble online. But for those of us who wants to taste the real thing, Vegas is really fabulously fun, with something for everyone, and there’s always a reason to go back.
No matter how many times we visit Las Vegas, we leave feeling slightly awestruck. There’s something about the bright lights and buzz of the Vegas strip that always makes it an unforgettable experience. Caesars Palace is a maze of colonnades, shops, restaurants and casino. With ceilings painted with beautiful, blue skies, you can find yourself sitting by Rome’s Trevi Fountain, and losing track of time. Vegas is truly the city that never sleeps and it’s the ambient temperatures, with a feeling of being outside, that seems to do it. There’s something rather infectious about the ringing of the slot machines. As small crowds gather around the Roulette tables splashing the cash, one can’t help being drawn in and getting caught up in the excitement. Doubling our money on the Wheel of Fortune on the first night gave us some unfounded over confidence to gamble for the rest of the week. Fortunately, we adhered to our gambling budget, so not to part with our life savings. Although Vegas is renowned for the casinos, there is so much more to it.
Caesars Palace has over sized pools which tend to be quite lively, whilst the luxurious spa is vast, and relaxing. In house entertainment at Caesars Palace often includes shows by Celine Dion. With hundreds of shops and restaurants, there really is no reason to leave Caesar’s palace. Nobu is perfect for fine dining for a special celebration, whilst The Cheesecake Factory is our favorite family restaurant. The warm sour dough bread is slightly sweet and delicious. The Buffalo Blasts come piled high, which is succulent chicken laced with a cheese and chili sauce, served with crisp celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. The deep fried mac and cheese balls doused in a marinara sauce are ever so indulgent.
The Grand Burrito is a generous portion, over a foot long and really best shared. As the restaurant’s name suggests, the specialty is cheesecake. Spoilt for choice, the Oreo cheesecake is divine. It’s rich, creamy cheesecake with fudge and studded with Oreos.
Vegas is great for any celebration or a frivolous few days. Whether it’s for a hen or stag, or even an impromptu wedding officiated by Elvis. It’s the only place you will find extravagant casinos in the shape of an Egyptian pyramid, Paris’ Eiffel Tower and the Venice St Marco’s Square. With an hourly eruption of a volcano at the Mirage, you can take a gondola ride through the Venetian, and even find pink Flamingos roaming the Flamingo hotel. There’s a slightly overwhelming feeling of grandiosity, with glitz, and glamour. It’s a crazy city where in fact anything is possible. With a thrilling roller coaster that winds itself around the New York skyline. It’s almost unthinkable that there are the rides that can catapult you off the Stratosphere. They will leave your knees trembling, as you find yourself hurtling off the edge at speed and literally hanging over the strip.
