Yuu Kitchen

Yuu Kitchen

Yuu Kitchen is a rather funky, modern East London joint. The decor is uber cool, with Manga style art on the walls, and bird cages.hanging overhead. Inspired by the fusion of flavours of South-East Asia and the Pacific Rim, the menu is mouth watering.

img_4934Sitting at the bar overlooking the chefs table is great, as you can watch the theatrics of the food being flame cooked on the big green egg BBQs.

img_4882img_4913How have we not tried Bubble tea before? It’s brilliant! The lemon, iced green tea have pearls that burst in your mouth to release a juice that tantalises the taste buds.

img_4850The Vietnamese vegetarian Ssam is a lettuce wrapped deep fried spring roll packed full of corn, mushrooms and noodles, with a sweet chilli sauce. The crunch from the spring roll and the texture of the crisp lettuce makes it ever so pleasing to the palate.

img_4854The sweet and sticky eggplant with wok fried white miso glaze, crunchy shallots and sesame is served piping hot. And when I say hot, I mean scorching hot! After letting it cool down, it’s crisp on the outside and just melts in the mouth.

img_4871The grilled cauliflower is transformed by sweetcorn, jalepeño dressing, shallots, garlic chips and chives.

img_4862No longer are vegetarians getting a raw deal as these dishes were all packed full of fresh flavours and definitely amongst our favourite, and will see you battling with your chopsticks to clear the plate.

img_4867The baos are little buns that are generously filled with a variety of delicious centres.

img_4900The twice cooked braised pork belly served with BBQ sauce, cucumber pickles, and peanut is just delicious.

img_4901The Soy & buttermilk crispy chicken is served with carolina reaper chilli sauce, and daikon pickle.

img_4899The 150 day grain fed sirloin doused in BBQ sauce is succulent, and so moreish.

img_4906The BBQ’d Octopus braised with sake, mirin and soy with a ginger and garlic sauce is lifted by he sprinkling of coriander.

img_4879The warm, moist coconut bread cake topped with ice cream is the perfect end to an excellent meal.
