Kol has a lovely, modern Icelandic feel and serves some of the best cocktails and food in Iceland. With experienced head chef, Einar Hjaltason and Karl Porsteinsson having worked at London’s Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, Dabbous, and Noma in Copenhagen we had high expectations.
The menu is varied and service friendly and attentive. The homemade lemonade of lemon, orange and grapefruit with a sprig of mint was rather refreshing. The warm bread was infused with fruit and served with a light, airy whipped butter.
The lamb topped with barley, goats cheese and carrot tempura was divine.
The cod was cooked to perfection with charred iceberg lettuce and molasses. The ambience adds to the dining experience.
We would recommend this for a special evening in Iceland or before an evening to search for the Northern Lights.
