With the countdown to Christmas beginning, the festivities are underway in London. The Christmas lights are being switched on across the city in readiness for the the festive season. Carnaby Street is always one of our favourites at Christmas. This year Carnaby Street is adorned with lovely, giant, funky, multicoloured disco balls and the side streets have oversized light bulbs.
Taking a stroll towards Regent Street we were lucky to catch the switching on of the Regent Street Christmas lights. Classic FM’s, Myleene Klass and Aled Jones hosted the event, transforming Regent Street into a pedestrianized street. With several stages dotted along the stretch and giant screens there was a great vibe. Live jazz music by The Little Big Band spread Christmas cheer followed by some great classics from Elle and the Pocket Bells. Thousands of people packed into Regent Street to catch festive performances by Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, trumpeter Alison Balsom, soprano Laura Wright, and the Philharmonic Orchestra.
Strictly Come Dancing’s judge, Darcy Bussel switched on the lights. The lights sponsored by Jo Malone took a ‘Timeless Elegance,” watch making theme, intricately designed by Belgium-based ACT Lighting Design. They were sophisticated with an understated elegance.
